Seitan Chyck'n Korma

Authentic Korma Dish with a Vegan Twist!

An authentic Korma made using our unique Funky Chyck’n seitan.

Ingredients

  • LoveSeitan Funky Chyck’n Seitan
  • 2 tbsp of vegetable oil
  • 1 medium sized onion, diced
  • 3 cloves of garlic, chopped
  • 2cm piece of ginger, grated
  • 1 tsp Tumeric powder
  • 2 tsp of garam masala
  • 1 Tbsp of fresh coriander, chopped (plus extra for garnish)
  • 400g of coconut milk
  • 1 or 2 cups of white rice

Method

  • Cook your rice, either on the stove on in a rice cooker and keep warm.
  • Chop the seitan into the size you prefer, I recommend approx 1.5cm cubes.
  • Gently fry the seitan in a little oil until it just begins to brown, turning frequently, approx 3 mins then set aside.
  • In a large saucepan heat the oil over a medium heat. Cook onions for approx 3-4 minutes until soft but ensure they don’t turn brown.
  • Add the garlic, ginger, turmeric and garam masala and cook on low heat for a further 10 minutes allowing all spices to blend and release their aromas.
  • Add the seitan to the dish and mix thoroughly.
  • Add the coconut milk and bring to the boil. Then turn down heat and gently simmer for a further 10 minutes.
  • Finally add the chopped coriander, mix and simmer for another 2 minutes.
  •  Serve with the rice you prepared earlier and garnish with the remaining coriander.
