The Stir Fry is a Chinese cooking technique where the ingredients are fried in very hot oil in a wok. The technique has spread around the world and is now one of the most popular methods of cooking. It is claimed that this quick, hot cooking seals in the flavors of the foods, as well as preserving their colour and texture.
The wok itself dates back to around 200BC but wasn’t used for cooking until much later.
Historically every imaginable ingredient has been used in Stir Fry dishes including meat, seafood and vegetables. These days though there is absolutely no need to use any animal products to create the perfect Stir Fry.
Add some Chilli & Garlic Seitan to your noodles and vegetables, cook it in sweet and sour or the sauce of your choice, then sprinkle some raw, chopped spring onions on top and serve. You can also use our Classic or Italian Seitan for this recipe, whichever you prefer.
