Our Chilli & Garlic Seitan is lightly flavoured with chilli and is mild to the taste. It is very low in fat, high in protein and is also a good source of Iron, Calcium and Fibre. See the nutritional info below for full details.
We love it in a stir fry with fresh noodles, peppers, mushrooms and onions. It also works great as a filling for a pie or a pasty, just adding enough spice that you know it’s there without making you reach for a cold drink!
New 1kg Logs
Our new seitan logs are different from our traditional blocks in that they are round (hence logs, see photo above). Also they are 1kg in weight rather than 800g for the blocks so you get 25% more for the same price.

Storage & Preparation
Our seitan logs have a long (4 month) shelf life so long as the packaging is intact. Once opened, wrap the remaining seitan tightly in cling film, keep refrigerated and use withing 48 hours of opening. Alternatively, freeze the seitan on the day of opening and use within 3 months of freezing.

Our Chilli & Garlic seitan is rich in plant protein and low in fat with no cholesterol. Approximate % of calories by weight from protein = 63%, fat = 7.2% (1% from saturated fat).
For comparison spicy chorizo sausage is approximately 21% protein and 75% fat (28% from saturated fat) with 88mg cholesterol per 100g (29% of recommended daily amount).
